The 11 Best Coffee Shops In Denver

Denver’s coffee shops offer tasty, energizing treats for their clientele, as well as a warm community atmosphere to enliven any cold morning in the Rocky Mountains. Below is a list of the best places to get your caffeine fix in the Denver area.

Corvus Coffee

One of the friendliest, most welcoming coffee shops you’ll find in Denver, Corvus Coffee is a top pick among locals and offers three locations to choose from. Not only does this business take time to develop relationships with its farmers and personally pick their coffee’s flavors, but the beans are also roasted in-house (right in front of customers) by a Dutch cast iron roaster.  There is no question here that you’re getting one of the freshest cups possible. In addition to their consistently unique flavors, they have a seasonal menu of brews and craft drinks. They even offer tours to show you just how your coffee goes from bean to cup. If you’d rather enjoy your Corvus coffee at home or want to share it with some friends, you can join their subscription list, which offers four unique coffees over a four-month period.

Queensberry Coffee

If you want to travel back in time while enjoying your cup of joe, try Queensberry Coffee (formerly Black Eye Coffee). This coffee shop was established in 2012 and features a unique, retro interior decorated with reclaimed wood, vintage furniture, and neon signs. Their aesthetic is a beautiful blend of modern and mid-century designs. The baristas are all passionate and knowledgeable about the coffee they’re serving, so don’t hesitate to ask a question or inquire about their favorite item.

Commonwealth Coffee Roasters

Commonwealth Coffee Roasters is a coffee shop with an interesting twist. The shop offers “cereal coffees,” where they infuse the milk with your favorite cereals and craft next-level coffee beverages with the concoction. Commonwealth beans are roasted on-site, and the storefront provides patrons with fantastic cups (and bags) of coffee. The staff is all friendly, passionate about their craft, and ready to answer questions or give suggestions. For a truly unique take on modern coffee, check out Commonwealth Coffee Roasters in Denver.

Crema Coffee House

If you’re looking for variety in your coffee, then Crema Coffee House is the perfect spot. They have 22 roasters from multiple states, including California, New York, and Washington—and every cup offers different flavors from throughout the country and the planet. Crema has two locations, both of which provide a casual and friendly atmosphere. The original location offers a variety of homemade food prepared daily.

Amethyst Coffee Company

The Amethyst Coffee Company has four different locations across the Denver area. They roast their own coffee in-house and also offer coffee from Commonwealth Coffee Roasters. The atmosphere inside this shop is warm and welcoming, and the staff will all greet you with a smile and a friendly conversation. The shop is owned and run by baristas, so you can trust you’re being served by coffee experts every step of the way. Its mission is to create a space where everyone—including guests, staff, and suppliers—feels supported. You're sure to leave this shop with a smile on your face.

Huckleberry Roasters

Huckleberry Roasters was founded in 2011 and serves as one of Denver's oldest coffee roaster chains. They have a variety of signature blends for you to try at both of their locations, and a selection of teas as well. Its mission includes two parts: serving tasty drinks and making people happy. They source their ingredients from small farms (both locally and globally) to create unique and delicious concoctions.

Queen City Collective Coffee

Queen City Collective offers rich, flavorful coffee at two locations in Denver. They go out of their way to form relationships with their roasters and provide special support to female-owned and operated coffee farms. You can purchase coffee at their storefronts or in the form of a monthly subscription, to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. At night, this coffee shop flips over to a brewery, so you can come back and grab a craft beer to end your day.

Weathervane Café

Adventurous coffee lovers need to check out Weathervane Café. The shop uses ingenious flavor combinations in their coffee and on their menu, with plenty of options to excite your taste buds. Weathervane Café is open for breakfast and lunch in addition to their coffee service. The two-story café is adorned with an eclectic variety of mismatched furniture that gives the space a cozy homey feel as if you stopped by your friend’s house for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat.

Blue Sparrow Coffee

Not only does Blue Sparrow Coffee have unique drinks on its inventive menu, but they also have a commitment to sustainability in coffee agriculture and commerce. The shop features coffee from all over the globe and rotates its schedule of featured roasters, so you will always have something new to try. They have two locations that offer a variety of different options, including CBD nitro cold brew and tea soda on tap—as well as food sourced from local providers.

Whittier Café

The Whittier Café is the only shop on this list that specializes in African coffees, and the owner builds relationships with each farmer. In honor of these connections, every Sunday at 2:00 p.m., the café hosts an Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony. In general, Whittier Café is devoted to quality coffee, social justice, and a diverse and accepting atmosphere. The coffee is of course delicious, so if you want to try out something new, hit up this café for a Sunday afternoon pick-me-up.

Pablo’s

Founded in 1995, Pablo’s Coffee opened when owner/operator Craig Connor quit his job to pursue his coffee-related dreams. There are now three locations across the Denver area, each as delicious as the next. This coffee shop means to serve coffee to patrons while they mingle, relax, and enjoy the moment—and thus, there is no public Wi-Fi available. The staff at Pablo’s pride themselves on offering a quality product that is both affordable and enjoyable for everyone in their community.

Mutiny Information

Mutiny Information Café is so much more than a coffee shop. Not only is it a new and used bookstore, but they also host a variety of events including open mics, comedy festivals, comic book conventions, and music showcases.
